- Microsoft says GOODBYE to Yahoo!
I really thought that someday of this year, Microsoft and Yahoo, two great companies will fuse into one giant team-up, despite of the rumors that Yahoo had rejected $44.6 billion cash-and-stock offer to Microsoft. But then, May 3 of this year, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer have officially sent a letter to Yahoo! CEO Jerry Yang to withdraw Proposal on acquiring Yahoo!.
Steve Ballmer, Google-CEO
“We continue to believe that our proposed acquisition made sense for Microsoft, Yahoo! and the market as a whole. Our goal in pursuing a combination with Yahoo! was to provide greater choice and innovation in the marketplace and create real value for our respective stockholders and employees,” Ballmer said
In addition, “We have a talented team in place and a compelling plan to grow our business through innovative new services and strategic transactions with other business partners. While Yahoo! would have accelerated our strategy, I am confident that we can continue to move forward toward our goals,”
But i believe the two specified companies are still in experimenting or i may say in deep research on how to defeat GOOGLE dominance in the Search engine advertising market.
tsk.. tsk.. sa opinyon ko, sayang yun! kung magfuse sila, kaya na nilang patumbahin ang google.. :-) heheh.
some rumors naman are saying that yahoo is thinking about selling their company to microsoft...or making partner with Google...or with Amazon.
whatever it is, it seems to be a tough decision for them. and whichever deal they take, is fatal and disastrous...
