And of course, what do you expect? of those buzzing moments, status here and there, pictures upload, tweets, what else? hmm plurking features, since its networking, of course building your own Network. My question, is this Microsoft move, another threat of number one online social networking site? the facebook? I bet not!

Outlook Social Connector or OSC provides you the ff:

• The People Pane A name, picture, and title for your colleagues whenever reading a message from them.
• Rich history See a rich communications history for each person that sends you messages with one-click access to the most recent messages and attachments.
• Activities Download and see real-time activity for your colleagues from business and social networks.
• Get friendly Request someone as a colleague or friend with one click. Synchronize those colleagues with Outlook and keep them up-to-date as their information changes.
• SharePoint 2010 Connect to the new MySite social networking experience right out of the box with the OSC & SharePoint 2010.
• Extensible A public SDK allows anyone to build a connection to business or consumer social networks.

As of now, I am still in the stage of exploring Outlook 2007, but here comes 2010 version, I can't wait to work with it! rock!

Plurk has been a daily site for me since i registered in. I enjoyed the company, laughters and advices from my friends and fans there, and i just don't get it, why the biggest software company do copy the codes and design of the number one Microblogging service in asia, our PLURK. In fact, if they have the best developer in the world, they can make their own microblogging service without copying the codes and the worst, the design and template.

I am not judging, i am just giving my feelings towards this online incident. So for you my dear readers and visitors, check below screenshots of the similarities of the two microblogging service from Microsoft and Plurk.

A green friendster.com was launched early this morning. Lots of feedback and shocking moments scattered all over the net, from twitter, plurk to facebook, all of them is shouting for this new move of Friendster. So why rebranding Friendster?


Friendster, Inc. is targeting Asian Youth particularly at Southeast Asia in which our country, Philippines is located. As reported by Friendster site, they are the leading website throughout the said continent with over 75 million registered users and over 90 percent of daily traffic coming from the specified region.

"We understand our users and our major markets in Asia better than anyone. This is just the beginning of a series of new products and services catering to the needs of our users, and in a way unmatched by any other social network." said Richard Kimber, chief executive officer at Friendster.

As everyone noticed, Friendster.com is now adapting the greener effect and color combination in their homepage. New logo is also noticed and most of all, the template or format in your profile looks like partly the same with Facebook especially the location of your message, application and other notifications links which can be seen under your profile picture. In addition, i noticed, the shoutout part (which is the same with status in facebook) is being developed and have given an emphasis; located just in the upper center part of your profile.


Lots of changes were made, and new services or product were introduced:

* The Friendster Wallet is a new micro-payments platform that allows users to purchase products and services on Friendster such as virtual gifts, and to send and receive money to one another. The Friendster Wallet enables users to store account balances and supports a variety of payment methods including pre-paid cards, mobile payments, online payments and credit card payments. Moving forward, Friendster will enable users to make purchases surrounding online games and other offerings. The Friendster Wallet is powered via a partnership with MOL AccessPortal Berhad (MOL)*, a leading payments provider leveraging a network of over 500,000 physical and virtual payment channels worldwide.

* The Friendster Gift Shop enables the Friendster community to send virtual gifts to one another, quickly and conveniently. Friendster Gifts are used to send personal gestures of kindness, celebrate significant accomplishments, and recognize friends and family on special days, like birthdays, or just for fun. A variety of gift themes are supported and more will be added over time. Currently, users can choose from virtual birthday gifts, collectible gifts, greeting gifts, premium gifts, romance gifts, seasonal gifts, thank you gifts and more.

* Friendster Games is an online games destination, which will offer Friendster users a wide variety of fun, entertaining games and applications to play online with their friends. Building on the games already available on the site (through the 'Fun' menu on the Navbar), users will be able to easily search and bookmark the games they like to play. Game developers will be able to incorporate The Friendster Wallet into their games, allowing them to participate in the Friendster micro-payments ecosystem.
