Thakral Group Expands Presence to Cebu
IT Subsidiaries Thakral Infotech and Technopaq Meet Partners and Customers
Lahug, Cebu - 23, March 2010 - Singaporean-based multinational conglomerate Thakral Group announces its plan to expand its presence in the Philippines to focus on the Southern market for its four IT subsidiaries, namely – Thakral Infotech, Technopaq, OrionElec and Raffles Solutions and Services.

General Manager, Teddy Sumulong, in a press briefing confirms Cebu is the central office for their Visayas and Mindanao region. There is no venue specified but he will focus on studying the office somewhere located at the Cebu Business Park or IT Park, Lahug. While sharing his vision and go-to-market with local IT media and industry bloggers specifically the most-unified blogging community in cebu and even in the country, the Cebu Bloggers Society, Sumulong elaborates that this company focuses in the business interests in electronics distribution, real-estate, hotel establishments, manufacturing, IT and value-added consulting services.
The Thakral Group’s broad offering covers products from IT icons – namely EMC, Oracle and Lenovo. Here in the Philpippines, Thakral is represented by Technopq Inc., the largest distributor of IBM and Lenovo Products.
Sumulong also disclosed that they are launching a two-prong campaign
1. To find strategic partner-resellers
2. To hire IT professionals.
The recruitment drive is in line with the parent company’s expansion plans shared last January. And luckily, Cebu was chosen and as we expect, lots of opportunities will be given to the newly graduates for this month.

Oracle acquires GoldenGate
This news is not a new(s) for us since the two companies are working together for 10 years already, thus many people expect the same outcome just today. Last June 23, Oracle announced their acquisition of GoldenGates but with no disclosed money/financial figure. GoldenGate Software is a private company providing real-time data integration and high availability solutions that empower IT organizations to deliver continuous access to real-time information. Oracle company is expected to close the deal later this year.

To allow data to move between heterogeneous systems in real-time without any downtime, is what Oracle claimed to be their goal on this action they made. So far, Lots of GoldenGates products are already been integrated with Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware and other Oracle Applications, thus, implementing with these changes are not a bottleneck to the organization.
And speaking of middleware --- Earlier this month, Oracle announced their latest version of middleware, Fusion Middleware 11g.
