Nokia X1-01, Nokia C2-00: Dual Sim Phones Features and Overview
June 15, 2011 – Cebu City. A number of CBSi tech bloggers attended the launching of Nokia Dual Sim units at Roof Deck, Harolds Hotel with different personalities and media men. The event was headed by Miss Nikka Abes, Nokia’s Corporate Communications Manager, who initially gave a preview through some video presentation about the product.

Nokia today announced that the Dual SIM Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00 would soon both be on sale in the Philippines. Both models offer the most convenient and intuitive experience available for switching between SIM cards – without compromising on features and fun.

Nokia X1-01

Nokia gets new CEO, Microsoft Exec takes over
After the controversial resignation of HP CEO, Mark Hurd and his jumping to Oracle, here comes a BIG news to the technology/IT companies. Microsoft executive Stephen Elop will be replacing Nokia Corp. CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo with its aim to regain lost share in the very competitive smart phone market.

Previously, access to some of Microsoft's most popular Web services, such as Hotmail and instant messaging, have been built into Nokia phone models.

Confirm: Skype availability in Nokia's Ovi Store
Nokia Corp. (NOK), the world's handset maker confirmed the free download of Skype application in their Ovi Store. Voice-over-Internet company Skype provides a free call service internationally and sharing of files such as pictures and videos.

Nokia confirmed Skype will run for Symbian service and is compatible to any Nokia device that featured the latest version of mobile platform. This will include N97 and E72 smartphones. Nokia has done lots of marketing and strategy to increase its share in the very wide and high-margin smartphone market. Just like its step of launching its Ovi Store which is (if I am not wrong) a copy cat of Apple's Apps Store, Nokia provide a free download of applications and program to users from their Ovi store.
"We are seeing around 1.5 million downloads a day on Ovi Store now and believe that the Skype client for Nokia smartphones will have wide appeal to Symbian users," Jo Harlow, Nokia Senior Vice President for Smartphones, said Wednesday.
At the end, Skype will also be available in some smartphones vendors such as Sony Ericsson.

Maemo Software on N900
Nokia, a pioneer in mobile telecommunications and the world's largest maker of mobile devices, promised a once for a lifetime PC-like experience on a handset-sized mobile device though N900. It features high-resolution WVGA touch screen and fast internet connectivity with 10/2 HSPA and WLAN. If you are a fan of youtube and any other flash driven websites and video watching, using the Mozilla browser with Adobe Flash™ 9.4 support, you can feel what it feels when you are doing it in a desktop computer.
Nokia N900 will soon be available this coming October with an estimated retail proce of 500 (Euro).
