Google Realtime VS. Bing Social: Which is the best?
After launching its Call Phones from Gmail feature, Google, the number one search engine site launched Thursday their so called Google Realtime.
Google Realtime (www.google.com/realtime)
In this feature, users can search on the most talked topic on social sites (Facebook, MySpace and Twitter), news articles and most of all in blog posts. This realtime saerch (from the name itself) lets you see up-to-the-second social updates in the new Realtime homepage. Moreover, user can refine realtime results by location, time, Month/Year or more.

After this search, you can create a Google alerts (www.google.com/alerts) to keep track and be updated with your created query and deliver the result to your email.
Bing Social (www.bing.com/social)
Unlike Google Realtime, which traditionally starts off with a blank page letting the user to type in their wanted searched keys, Bing Social displays the hot trends in the net. In addition, you can choose two sources of your results from Twitter and Facebook unlike Google which only has the UPDATES selected.
As expected, Bing Social did not display search results from blogger's sites or tweets. This is already observed by a number of bloggers and concluded a reason why Bing did not surpass Google in search engine market.
For now, Yahoo, another search engine site, did not offer anything that is related to the two features above. Which is the best for you? Try it now!

During the meeting in Brussels, ICANN, the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers gave a GO signal for the special .xxx domain name. ICANN is an organization/corporation responsible in checking, validating and overseeing the creation and distribution of web addresses online.
Pornographic websites or companies had long eager to make a new suffix for their business sites. An advantage was noticed in this change. Search Engine sites like Google, Yahoo and Bing will now easily filter those bold websites in their search engine results. The same action will be done by company or school administrators in blocking .xxx websites inside school infra or computer laboratories.

I am just wondering how can ICANN work with blogs connecting as subdomains of free blog service sites like blogspot or wordpress which in the first place offers pornographic or adult entertainment or self-FUN satisfaction?

Microsoft reveals Windows Phone 7 Series
Today (February 15, 2010), Microsoft icon and CEO Steve Ballmer unveiled the next generation of phones (smart phones) and most specifically, Windows Phone, the so called WINDOWS PHONE 7 SERIES. If you are a fan of XBOX games or a fanatic of Zune Music, then you can all get them in this phone. For the first time, Microsoft brought the features together in just a phone.
“Today, I’m proud to introduce Windows Phone 7 Series, the next generation of Windows Phones,” said Steve Ballmer, chief executive officer at Microsoft.

And i guess, this phone is another way of catching google.com in search engine market coz Microsoft was setting up the phone with a dedicated hardware button for BING, another rival of Google and yahoo in searching. For the design, i do not find it new since some of which are already featured in Samsung smart phones so with Iphone , Google Nexus One and others.
This latest trend of smartphones, Windows Phone 7 Series is available on Holiday 2010. And here in the Philippines? Maybe in the next few months after its released in the US or maybe next year.

MSN New Look: A major make-over
MSN.com, Microsoft's website, has its new look on Wednesday at the US time. Lots of changes were made, some part of the old stuff were removed and some boxes were added. As advised by Erik Jorgenson, corporate vice president for MSN, the new design aims to address customer or user's feedback and complaints. Some of which are the following points:

I think it follows the latest trends of blogger's template. Generally, the site are divided into sections which in return give the users a fun way of browsing and searching using their bing search engine site.

Does Bing surpasses Google? Coz it does with Yahoo!
Many reviews flash the net world which started on the launching day of Bing, Microsoft's revised search engine site, until this day. Some says Google still remain on top and some, Bing works the best.
But for my point of view both have the same features in the some way that the only difference is their respective presentation of the site.
Let set for example, the search for images. In Google, images are displayed in an ordered manner with label and source site below them while in Bing, images also are displayed well with no labels on them, but if you try to mouse over those images, you will see then the snapshot of these images with the file name, source site and others.

Other thing is, the Homepage display of each of these sites. In Bing, they usually changing the background image and obviously, promoting some area or location in the US. While in Google, as we used to it, they do some art with their name in the homepage that corresponds to the celebration or any significant event on that specific day.

These observation are just few of the many reviews we can encounter in the web. And for sure, as a customer or user, we need to know what this specific site offers indifferently from its competitor, we need to know what are its new features that the other site doesn't have and most importantly, we need the data more accurately and sharp.

Bing: Safe Search Updates
As Bing Issues buzzed the online world last week or i may say early this week, Microsoft is now taking action on this not so good outcome of their promising search engine.
And i am talking about the Bing unblocked Porn displays in their search site. But today, according to Mike Nichols, General Manager of Bing, they have done two changes to address the issue.
First, a separate single domain was made, explicit.bing.net - this will serve as filter site for those explicit images and videos. If you think you can browse the said link, then sorry, it is invisible to us, users and if you really want to try to access such, you will be automatically redirected to its main page, bing.com
Second, Bing has now starting to display the URL source of the query string for images and video content.

And for that, Bing has become the center of issues to some Asian countries like China and some Muslim communities where the display of these sexual contents are definitely offensive

It seems that promotion and other advertisement regarding Microsoft's Bing worked. As it overtakes Yahoo's number 2 spot as the best search engine in the US and worldwide last Thursday according to StatCounter Global Stats.
Yahoo landed in third place with a share of 10.22 % only but Microsoft Bing surpasses with 16.28 % share and as expected, Google still top all search engine market with 71.47 %.
The Microsoft Beta Bing is now online and can be used and browsed. But after i tested it several times, i found it boring which even my site did not topped the search, lols. But i like the over all presentation of the search engine in the homepage.

To Kumo or To Bing?
Microsoft alleged new search engine codename: Kumo was forgotten and put to trash as the company is now considering its new name BING. And the shaking news is that Microsoft is working to have a massive Ad campaign.
According to AdvertisingAge, Bing will cost for about $80-$100 million not just online, but this includes advertisement and promotions on TV, print and radios. It cannot be denied that this move will be compared to Google's advertising launching budget of $25 million only last year. Will this big amount pushed by Microsoft can do a big change in internet search market?
I always remember when i ask my boss or classmate with a certain topic, they would preferably replied, "Google it!" . Can Bing change this users view of internet search? Can Bing beat Google's new tools and search options? Can Bing surpass Yahoo's new features of searching online? Can Bin even ask ASK.com?
